PMJ – Jelang acara puncak, penyelenggara Emmy Awards 2020 mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk ajang penghargaan program TV paling bergengsi di Amerika Serikat itu.

Dalam ajang tahun ini, serial pahlawan super garapan HBO, Watchmen, memimpin perolehan nominasi dengan 26 kategori. Kemudian serial drama komedi dari Amazon Prime Video, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel menempati urutan kedua dengan perolehan 20 nominasi. Selanjutnya, Ozark dan Succession yang masing-masing meraih 18 nominasi.

Sedangkan, Netflix masih menjadi penyedia layanan streaming dan rumah produksi yang menguasai sebagian besar nominasi dengan total 160. Hal ini merupakan kedua Netflix mengalahkan rival beratnya, HBO, yang pada 2020 hanya mendapatkan 107 nominasi.

Penyelenggara siap mengumumkan pemenang Emmy Awards 2020 pada 20 September mendatang dalam acara malam penghargaan yang dipandu oleh Jimmy Kimmel dan disiarkan live di ABC.
